Moldova Innovation and Technology Park is virtual park which operates in a multistakeholder governance model, it was established by adoption of Law no. 77 on information technology parks and Government Decision no. 1144 of 20.12.2017. The main goal of "Moldova IT park" is to create an organizational platform equipped with a set of innovative mechanisms and incentives needed to boost the development of the IT industry, create jobs and attract domestic and foreign investment. The Park also aims to capitalize on opportunities to grow the IT industry by implementing a predictable and motivational regulatory framework and by facilitating the business and financial system.

Although the organizational platform of the Park includes broader objectives, the main attractive aspect of the Park is the reduction of the burden on its residents. Thus, seven taxes and duties (income tax, income tax, compulsory state social insurance contributions, compulsory health insurance premiums, local tax, real estate tax and road tax) were merged into - a single tax rate of 7% on turnover. Also, the residents of the Park benefit from simplified procedures of fiscal reporting, payment of taxes, simplified procedures for foreign collaborators who want to obtain a visa and work permit. Also, the residents of the Park are subjects of less state controls.
